Beautiful & Educational Wander Through Time
We had the most wonderful private tour for 4 of us with Laura at Valley of the Temples. She is extremely knowledgeable, and has a very easy way of providing a detailed overview of this ancient site and its history. We went in the evening started at 5pm and finished by sunset. Enjoyed the monuments in the glow of the setting sun and then lit after it set. A fabulous experience that I highly recommend. Fabulous family friendly tour
Laura was fantastic. She gave our family of five (three young children) a private tour of valley of the temples in Agrigento and we are so glad we booked her. She had excellent communication beforehand. You do have to be comfortable spending extra on a tour (given you can visit the site for very cheap) but for us it was worth it. She tailored the tour to our kids (aged 8,5 and 3) and gave a history lesson that was age appropriate. She went at their pace and explained things they were interested in- it felt a very tailored tour. She met us outside the main entrance and as soon as we were through, out came her activity packs and the first of her huge amount of resources. Her English is fantastic and our children enjoyed learning about the temples. We are glad we paid for a tour and were not plodding around the site on our own. Laura made Valley of the Temples sing!
Such a great afternoon with Laura! We had visited the Archeological Museum earlier in the day and were a bit frustrated because the artifacts were out of context. Laura sorted that out immediately - her explanations of the various Temples and why certain artefacts were found where they were made sense of everything. Along the way, she shared information about ongoing archeological explorations, local vegetation (we were especially taken by almonds and pistachios), climate, and the benefits of living in Agrigento over Palermo. Laura brings the Valley of the Temples alive
Laura is a wonderful, knowledgeable guide who is passionate about the Valley of the Temples, having grown up in Agrigento. She truly brought the history of the place alive, eagerly answered all of our many questions and made the three hours fly by. Perhaps the best guide we’ve been with, which I think is partly because she’s an archaeologist, partly because she knows the Valley of the Temples so well and partly because she’s such an engaging story teller. Expert and personable guide
I chose to have Laura be our guide for our visit because of her extensive background and professional studies and publishing. As a university professor, I need a high level in a tour guide. Laura was perfect for this. Her deep knowledge of the archeological site was impressive. Our time together felt like a long conversation. She also accompanied us to the museum and took us through the highlights. Further, my friend got tired and hungry and needed to stop at the cafe. Laura accompanied us for this rest stop. Great knowledge, dinner and kindness
"and that's why it's always better with a guide"! Words spoken after a tremendous experience with Laura. Her knowledge is deep and she tailored it perfectly to my wife and I over three hours at this spectacular archeological site of beauty and splendour. But this was the second three hours+, as we thouroughly enjoyed an evening of great food and getting to know each other the night before. Her charming and talented husband Giovanni cooked us a fantastic meal at their flat with a view. In addition, she picked us up, which enabled the wonderful sight night tour drive home. And if that wasn't enough, Giovanni picked us all up the next day to take us back to our hotel after the tour (he offered my wife some lovely pistachios, and whether intended or not, she took the entire bag - ooops). A great immersive tour for parents and kids alike
Laura is a great and very knowledgeable guide. We spent more than 2 hours with her in Valley of the Temples. She explained everything to our 8-year old son in a very age appropriate manner, had many interactive tools in her backpack (from building a miniature temple to old coins and stories about Hercules and Icarus), paced and timed breaks, and offered our son a wonderful kit to explore the site. Fascinating and interesting.
Laura is a wonderful guide and story teller. She brought to life the story of the Valley of the Temples. We all learnt a lot and appreciated the importance and significance of the site with her historical background and insight. The guided tour was a highlight of our visit. Amazing and very informative private tour by Laura - an archeologist!
Our hotel organized a last minute private tour of The Valley of the Temples. Laura was ahead of schedule welcoming us to the archeological park. We learned a lot! Tremendous Temple Tour!!!!
Laura was the very best tour guide that we had in our 11 days visiting Italy. We have two boys (ages 15 and 12) and she made the temples come to life for them. Her English was superb and she was very descriptive in her explanations. She easily kept all of us attentive and patiently answered our many questions. She has extensive knowledge of ancient Greek history, religion, and customs since she went to school in Greece, and she did a fabulous job sharing her knowledge with both adults and children. In her backpack she brought artifacts, maps, and pictures to help us visualize the temples. She was very thorough and professional.
